Greetings from a bright, sunny Verona - Sommelier India (blog)
WINE magazine's Delhi correspondent reporting from Verona.

There are some superb tastings lined up including a look at Solaia, the historical Super-Tuscan produced by Marchesi Antinori. If last year's retrospective on 150 years of Gaja is anything to go by, then this year's look at the 1978, '88, '94, '97, '04 and '07 vintages will be just as enjoyable and we hope, rather memorable.

Elsewhere around the fair, the annual Civiltà del Bere tasting looks at 12 'blue chip' Italian wines - the consistently highest rated wines in the most regarded wine publications and critics around the world such as Gambero Rosso, Parker, Wine Spectator etc. The producers showing their top wine include Allegrini, Ornellaia, Antinori, Mastroberardino and Tenuta San Guido (producers of Sassicaia) to name a few.

There are also historical Amarone tastings to look forwrad to: we are in the region for it after all.

Polina Bosca, Dia and Sula Vineyards - Uppercrustindia.com - Indian Wine Portal (blog)
Welcome to the über-fascinating world of Polina Bosca, a sixth generation representative of the illustrious Bosca family of Piedmont in the northwestern corner of Italy that has been in the wine business since 1831. “Bosca is a wholly family run wine business that each and every member of my large family is actively involved in,” says Polina, the agribusiness manager of Bosca wines.

In India to introduce and promote the Dia brand of Sula Vineyard’s refreshingly delightful light sparkling wine, Polina is raring to go — all this in the hope of converting a whole demographic of wine drinkers into hard core Dia drinkers.

Keep it cool - Business Standard
Wine chillers and refrigerators are sought after by wine enthusiasts.

Gargi Gupta checks out two options.

In a country that is as hot and humid as India, wine chillers and refrigerators are essential to store wine, to make sure that it doesn’t lose colour or flavour. These gadgets, which have become available in India in the last few years, offer the controlled climate — between 12 and 15 degrees centigrade — ideal to store wine.

Some of the latest models, such as the Wine Cellar from Chinese electronics brand Haier, even have a vibration-free refrigeration cycle to help the wine mature undisturbed, a separate program selector for red and white wines, and a UV-protected glass doors.

Bangalore to rev up the wine industry and wine tourism - Newkerala and DnaIndia - Indian Wine Portal (blog)
Wine production in Karnataka is expected to touch one lakh cases per month in the next five years, says Wine Board Chairman S Hari Singh.

Wine Festival to be held in Bangalore on April 10 and 11 , he said the production now was 10,000 cases per month. It was expected to increase ten fold within next five years.

Mr Singh said a "Wine Park" would be established at Turavi village in Bijapur District. Already 141.28 acres of land had been acquired from the state Government for this park.

India’s wine capital, Bangalore, is gearing up to promote wine tourism in a big manner. If all goes well, independent brands will promote wine tourism from December on the city’s outskirts. At present, there are only seven vineyards in the state, four of which dot Bangalore’s outskirts, while the other three are located in Bijapur and Bagalkot districts.
