On the wine bottle label, a lone monk with white hair and a beard stands against a red background, his draped greenish-gray cloak and long black robe in stark contrast to the crimson behind. He holds a long crook and gazes ahead, watching over his flock, perhaps, or looking to the future. This is the pelerin, which is French for pilgrim. It's a fitting image for winemaker Chris Weidemann, who is the lone guy behind this wine label.
India Wines Weidemann has been on a wine pilgrimage since 1987, when he quit college and landed at a Connecticut wine shop, launching a journey that ultimately led to Pelerin Wines.
Wines In India When the wine bug bit hard, Weidemann packed up his car and drove to Napa Valley to work harvest as a cellar rat at Freemark Abbey, cleaning floors, tanks and hoses.

A vast, spreadeagled pine tree breaks up the successive rows of neatly pruned vines, as the morning mist beyond the slope begins to clear and allow a tantalising peek of the sun-dappled hills behind.
India Wine If the winemakers who work here have their way, their product will soon be added to the select group of delicacies granted protected status by the European Union , alongside famed rivals including champagne and bordeaux. But the new pretenders aren’t based in France, or anywhere else in mainland Europe. The Stopham vineyard is on the outskirts of Pulborough, West Sussex. And, if they succeed, a glass of Sussex could be a reality by next year.
Wine In India The Stopham vineyard was started from scratch by its owner, Simon Woodhead, in 2007, when he planted 21,000 vines on the six-hectare (15-acre) estate. It is now one of the smaller members of a consortium of Sussex wine producers that is finalising a bid for “protected designation of origin” (PDO) status .
The Westerly Wines team is dreaming up an ultra-exclusive estate grown wine that expresses the soul of the Santa Barbara AVA.

India Wine The name Westerly resonates in the Santa Ynez Valley. It was the name given nearly 50 years ago to a magnificent 3,900-acre Santa Ynez Valley horse ranch called Westerly Stud Farms. Today, the name Westerly represents one of the most diverse portfolios of wines in Santa Barbara County, California.
Wine In India
WASHINGTON — Chardonnay is one of the most ubiquitous wine grapes in the world. Many wine consumers are aware of offerings from America (particularly Napa, Sonoma and Central Coast), Australia and Chile.
Wine Business In India These specimens tend to be ripe and full-bodied — even buttery — featuring vanilla notes from oak aging. Some may even ditch the oak aging for a fresher, more fruit-centric version.
Wines From India But what still throws many wine consumers is that white Burgundy, also known euphemistically as Bourgogne blanc, is the gold standard of the world’s most planted grape varietal. Chardonnay is originally from France’s Burgundy region, where the best chardonnay wines are powerful and rich, with complex fruit flavors and notes of earth and minerals. More affordable chardonnays from Burgundy, made from grapes sourced from throughout the region, are crisp and lively, with apple and lemon flavors.
